🎶🎶🎶Congratulations to the HHS/HMS band members who participated in the Kentucky Music Educator's Association Solo and Ensemble Event on Saturday at the University of the Cumberlands! The Harlan band program was represented by 23 solo and small group events. 19 of those events received Distinguished ratings and the other 4 were rated Proficient. We are proud of our Green Dragon musicians!

Students in Ms. Maggard’s 2nd grade Science class have been exploring various habitats. They have been investigating how plants and animals survive. Students have also been researching while comparing and contrasting the information that they gathered. Students then used the information they gathered to make their own animal diorama habitats!

🐉 Harlan High School track team had 2 throwers, 2 jumpers and a girls relay team to finish in the top 5 at the 45th Annual Lake Cumberland Classic composed of 25 teams. Cade Middleton placed first in shot and fourth in discus, Marissa Marlow finished Third in shot and discus, Darius Akal and Willow Schwenke placed Fourth and Fifth respectively in the long jump and the Girl's 4x200 relay team finished Fifth. The relay team was made up of Willow Schwenke, Abbie Jones, Peighton Jones and Raegan Goodman. 🏋🏼♀️🏃🏿♀️. The Dragon track team will be back in action Tuesday at Leslie County.

Harlan Technology Student Association will be competing at the state competition for Kentucky TSA in Lexington, Kentucky this week. Harlan TSA will be competing in Technology Problem Solving with a team consisting of Cameron Reynolds and Christopher Taylor, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle with a team consisting of Caleb Engle and Jared Eldridge, and Technology Bowl with a team consisting of Jared Eldridge, Cameron Reynolds, and Christopher Taylor. Harlan will also be represented in the Voting Delegate Session by our delegates Caleb Engle, Cameron Reynolds, and Christopher Taylor. We wish all the participants the best of luck.
