🐉🐉🐉 Great things are happening at HMS! Students in Mr. Howard's class took a "carriage ride" of the New England colonies by analyzing sources and learning about life in the colonies! Mr. Howard used this activity to bring history alive for his students!!!

👩‍🔬Does your daughter/granddaughter like science or is interested in exploring STEM topics? Amy, Salena, and Rihanna, three HHS students, would like to invite your daughter/granddaughter (elementary or middle school age) to a STEM Workshop next Tuesday night at 4:30 in the downstairs area at the Harlan Public Library. Students at HMS enjoyed a treat earlier in the week! Miss Tagan Cox and Natalie Tomlinson from Pine Mountain Settlement School visited to inform students about the Junior Appalachian Musicians program. This is a 10-week program hosted at PMSS where students will have the opportunity to learn how to play the guitar, banjo, or fiddle. If students are interested, they need to contact Miss Cox!!

HMS 6th graders attended the Operation UNITE "Empowering the Next Generation" Youth Rally on Tuesday at HCHS. Students learned about the importance of making healthy choices and living a drug-free life. Huge thank you to everyone who made this possible for the students in our county!!

🐉 High Attendance Field Day 2024 for HMS was a success!!! These dragons have hit the ground running this year and have worked hard in the classroom. They got to celebrate their hard work on field day through games and team building activities! We are thankful for all of our students at HMS! This school is a great place to be!
