It's been another fantastic week at HMS! Students in Mrs. April Lawson's class held a silent conversation about quotes from a book study that they were doing!
Students in Mr. Will Varner's class participated in creating cave art after a vocabulary quiz on prehistory and archaeology!!
Our students are engaged, excited, and off to a great start this year at Harlan Middle School!
🏀 Amazing atmosphere last night at HHS!! HES and HMS Girls Basketball had a complete sweep against visiting Williamsburg!! The 3rd and 4th Grade team started out by winning 30 to 0, the 5th and 6th Grade won 44 to 7, and the 7th and 8th Grade finished out the evening winning 35 to 17. 🐉🐉🐉 Great things are happening at HMS! Students in Mrs. Wheeler's 6th Grade Reading Class 6th participated in an “Ice Cream Parlor” Book Tasting to prepare for individual book projects that will take place throughout the year!
Students in advisory period learned about empathy by participating in a Capturing Kids Hearts "Walk in my Shoes" activity!!!
🐉 Lady Dragons for the WIN!! 🏀 Last night, the HMS Lady Dragons 5/6 grade team moved to 3-2 on their season as they defeated Barbourville on the road 43 to 24!! Way to go, ladies!! We can't wait to see what you do with the rest of your season!! #gobiggreen

Lucy, a Henderson County 4th grader, passed away on her first day of school last week after she collapsed during recess. Please join us as we honor Lucy and her love for all things pink. 💕
🏀 In action earlier this week, the HMS Lady Dragon 5th and 6th grade basketball team took down Mountain View 39-17! The Lady Dragons 🐉 were led in scoring by Khloe Daniels with 12 points. Jerrah Phillips pitched in 10 points, while Lilly Daniels had 8. The Lady Dragons will return to action Tuesday evening at Barbourville!! #letsgogreen #dragonpride
