
January is School Board Recognition Month & we would like to thank our School Board members for their service & dedication to our school community. Great school districts are a community effort & the Harlan Independent School District wants thank all the past and present School Board members for making a difference in our community.

The Harlan Lady Dragons defended their home court against the visiting Lynn Camp Tigers Monday night. Freshman Aymanni Wynn came out hot and led the Lady Dragons to a nine point lead in the first quarter.
Coach Hamm's "All Hands on Deck" defense kept our girls fresh with every reserve player playing important minutes. They helped the girls to a 17 point lead at the half.
After three periods the Lady Dragons led by 20. Sophomore Emma Owens spread out an offensive attack that Lynn Camp could not answer. Owens scored 20 with Aymanni Wynn scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and Freshman Kylie Noe leading the victory with an impressive 31 points and 11 rebounds. #gobiggreen 🐉

All-A Tournament Information: On Thursday, January 27, the Harlan Middle/High School will dismiss at 12:00 PM.
School on Friday, January 28 will be determined by the out come of Thursday's game against Campbellsville High School.

The HHS Academic Match against Knox Central today has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled.


Harlan High School brothers Kaleb and Kyler Mclendon were hitting all cylinders Saturday in the Dan Cummins Classic held at Scott County High School.
The duo combined for 49 points as the Green Dragons downed the Paris Greyhounds to improve to 13-6 on the year. Kaleb Mclendon finished with 33 points and 8 rebounds while providing the Dragons plenty of energy on both sides of the floor. Kaleb connected early and often on his way to helping the Dragons extended their lead to 32 with a vicious 3rd quarter dunk before reserves closed out the contest. Kaleb was named Dan Cummins Classic Player of The Game.
Kaleb and Kyler took tuns knocking down three pointers in the first half burying 10 of 11 from long range, while Jordan Akal knocked down a three in the second frame.
Paris Junior Jayden Marks had the hot hand for the Greyhounds in the 2nd quarter scoring 10 points, including two three point field goals. Marks was seven of thirteen on the evening and led Paris with 17 points.
The Dragons took a 45-38 halftime lead into the locker room.
Harlan took control in the 3rd quarter turning up the defensive pressure and attacking the basket as all five starters scored leading to thirteen field goals.
Senior Jordan Akal scored 13 points and collected six assists as he distributed the ball to the Mclendon brothers. Jae’dyn Gist chipped in 13 points and 4 assists on the evening as well. Rounding out the scoring for Harlan was Kyler Mclendon with 16, Will Austin with 8 and Nate Montanaro with 2.
The Green Dragons will travel to Bell County on Tuesday for a Boys/Girls doubleheader district matchup. Tip-off for the girls game is set for 6:00PM.
